Shiki no Uta (Samurai Champloo)
“Shiki no Uta”
artist: Minmi
Translation: Tsuuyaku
~~~ 1 ~~~
また夜が明ければお別れ
Mata yo ga akereba owakare
夢は遠きまぼろしに
yume wa tooki maboroshi ni
あなたを追いかけていた光の中で
anata wo oikakete ita hikari no naka de
抱かれるたび 温かい風をたより
dakareru tabi atatakai kaze wo tayori
~~~ 2 ~~~
春を告げ 踊りだす山菜
haru wo tsuge odoridasu sansai
夏を見る宇治 野原唐草乾くわ
natsu wo miru uji nohara karakusa kawaku wa
秋の月登った まん丸さ お祝い
aki o tsuki nobotta manmarusa oiwai
冬を過ぎまた 月日を数える
fuyu wo sugi mata tsukihi o kazoeru
~~~ 3 ~~~
まだまぶたの奥にある いつかの夏
mada mabuta no oku ni aru itsuka no natsu
遠すぎた青空(温かった)
tooisugita aozora (atatakakatta)
手をつなぐ花摘みうたう
te wo tsunagu hanatsumiutau
いつや思い出
itsu ya omoide
今呼び覚ます 記憶の中で
ima yobisamasu kioku no naka de
いざ歩き出す あなたのもとへ
iza arukidasu anata no moto e
~~~ 4 ~~~
春を告げ 踊って山葉
Haru wo tsuge odotte sanba

I say goodbye to another dawn,
My dreams are distant illusions where
I’m inside the light of chasing you,
the journey I hold on to; I rely on the warm wind to guide me.
Dancing wild vegetables announce Spring.
Uji sees summer, and the fields dry into an arabesque*.
Let’s celebrate the risen full moon of Autumn.
Winter is over, and I count down the days and months again…
Still, there is a summer I see when I close my eyes,
the blue sky, too far away (it was warm).
Hand in hand, picking flowers, singing,
Always these memories.
Now I wake. Enveloped by the memory,
I set out, I have to find you…
*Note: fields drying into some patterns

This is awesome, thank you so much for posting this song! I really appreciate it when people have the kanji lyrics as well, since I’m learning Japanese and I think it’s a cool way to learn the language.
(BTW, I’m desperate for the ‘complete’ version of the lyrics… can you tell me where you found the kanji lyrics?)
